Why I do this Work
For much of my life, I didn’t realize how deeply the places I lived were affecting how I felt.
Background and Experience
Alongside my life and work experience, I bring professional training as a Council-Certified Residential Indoor Environmentalist, Certified Home Inspector and hold a Bachelor of Science in Community Health and Environmental Studies, completed the following classes through the CIRSx Institute: Medically Important Remediation for Professionals, Medically Important Assessment 101, and 102. I’ve spent over ten years working in the environmental field, including extensive experience in quality control and lab work, which taught me how to review environmental data with precision and attention to detail.

Looking back, many of the homes I lived in likely had ongoing moisture or maintenance issues. As a teenager, I was often run down and unwell, but I never connected it to my surroundings. At the time, I simply assumed it was “normal” to feel that way.
As life moved on, raising children, managing a household, and eventually moving into a new stage of life, those patterns became harder to ignore. Fatigue lingered, inflammation became more noticeable, and my body no longer recovered the way it once had. Still, it wasn’t obvious that my home environment could be playing a role.
Only years later did I begin to understand how important proper building maintenance, moisture control, and indoor air quality truly are. I realized that several of my past homes had experienced issues that I didn’t know to look for at the time. Like many people, I had never been taught what a “healthy home” really requires—or how easily small, overlooked problems can add up over time. It’s easy as a homeowner to neglect repairs or overlook their severity.
As I learned more and began addressing both past and present exposures, my health gradually improved. What made the biggest difference wasn’t a single solution, but education, awareness, and reducing environmental stressors wherever possible.
That experience changed how I see homes, health, and the connection between the two.
This work is about education, clarity, and helping people feel safer and more supported in the places they live.
